    Solar Reels

      Good quality
These straps hold up the best! We've tried others and they started to disintegrate from sun and chlorine. Because our pool is kidney shaped the directions were helpful to measure and set up the straps for the solar cover to roll up properly.

      poor planning concerning velcro
The directions were to place Velcro on the reel and then attach straps to that and adjust buckles. The Velcro was not strong enough to do the job. I found a way to put the straps around the reel, adjust the buckle to draw the cover close to the reel. This made it easier to reel the cover in and it wound neatly with no help from a second person.

      2nd set
This is the 2nd set I have purchased. The attachment clips are different than the 1st set. The problem with the 1st set was that one of the clips broke. I also noted that the straps would not always wind on the reel smoothly to keep the cover flat. However, using the straps with the reel makes it easy to store the cover when not needed.

      Great value
I bought this as it was commercial grade. The directions are good take time to do it right. It is not a guick assembly but when complete is well worth it. When measuring the pole lenght make sure to add in the base wheel support on both sides so you have room to wheel it. My old one was 18 ft. but with the wheel assembly I went to 20.. It rolls a 18x36 16 mil cover very easily

      4th of July Reel
Bought the reel for the 4th of July party & it came on time. But, all the hardware was missing. Used the old for the 4th. Contacted In the Swim & they had the hardware to me the following week. Assembly was fairly easy, but difficult to keep the tube straight. Ended up with a slight permanent bend in the tube. Once assemblied the reel works well. The unit as a whole is well made.

      Held up to the winters
Great reel...no issues, assembly was fairly easy but needed to drill my own holes, no big deal. Much better than other reels friends or I have had in the past. Left outside during winters, still in perfectly good working condition after 4 years.

      Worked great
We installed the remote solar reel early this summer and it worked well, once we changed the fuse, for 7 weeks. It has stopped working although the batteries and fuses seem to be fine. We are disappointed because it is such a handy thing!

      Does the job
So far so good! Reels up our 16' x 40' cover with ease

      Great Solar Reel
I installed it today and it is the greatest product I have ever purchased. Operation is smooth and quiet.

Just purchased this battery operated reel. I was going to purchase the Pool Boy 2 with an electrical plug but I had no outlets nearby and an extension cord would be unsightly. I'm so glad I bought this battery powered reel. It was easy to install and set up, it took me and my son 2 hours to assemble. The reel is solid and sturdy, it doesn't wobble with my 20' X 45' heavy 16mil solar cover. That little battery powers up the cover in both directions in under a minute. The only drawback is the ... read more that there is only one remote and it must be re-activated with each use by pressing both buttons for a few seconds as a safety I guess. If the battery holds charge for two weeks before recharging , I'll be satisfied as it only takes 6 hours to fully charge. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase as it was also delivered within 3 days from purchase. Thank you IntheSwim.com

      Worth Every Penny
When my 16 x 34 fiberglass pool was installed last year, the $10,000 to $12,000 it would cost to have an automatic pool cover installed was not an option. Needless to say, I soon tired of pulling my solar cover on and off and then laying it to the side. This took up all of my usable space on one length of the pool. Once I started looking for solar cover reels, I was pleased to find that the Pool Boy III was within my budget. I have been using my Pool Boy III for a little over a month, and it has ... read more been worth ever penny. It fits directly underneath my diving board and looks very neat and tidy. In addition, I don't have to worry about pulling and tugging with the fear of ripping my cover. You do need to buy the Solar Reel Attachment Kit for In Ground Pools though. Otherwise, you will not be able to secure the cover to the reel. The only con is that I am starting to see a few rusty areas here and there. If it lasts for many years to come, I will have no complaints.

Need Rocky's Solar blanket reel strap kit to attach to my Rocky's attachment.

      Good quality.
I used these straps to replace shorter straps on my reel which is 22" high. They seem to be working quite well.

      Best Ever!
This is by far an incredible reel system and Affordable compared to any other automatic pool cover system! I waited for over 2 years for a review and finally found one on another site who complained about the short cord - really?? That is not even a hiccup compared to how one person can pull off the cover and cover the pool back up with ease. Now for one we have an oval pool with steps. If you use a solar blanket cover this will work on any pool according to the Mfg. when I called. We kept the ... read more cover square where we attached the cover to the reel; we cut the cover on both sides so the seams of the cover are centered also. This is so the tether cord attaches on the seams to the poly rod which is underneath the cover. This would be for strength. We also got the adjustable Pool Boy and set it on the highest setting. Be mindful, the video does leave out the part where you do have to straighten out your cover at the start of reeling up the cover but after that, this is a DREAM come true. Wish I had it from the beginning, it would have save a lot of hassle.

      Poor assembling instructions
We bought the reel couple weeks ago...we have not run it yet but I can tell you that instructions to put it together could be better. Would I recommend to a friend...don't know yet.

      Great Product
I looked around the internet looking for reviews because of the cost. I was unable to find anything so I will give you my take on the product. It is absolutely awesome!!! It exceeded my expectations in terms of how well it extracts and retracts the pool cover. Pretty straight forward in terms of assembly. Two downsides- wish it came with caster wheels(went to home depot and put them on product-) and wish i could unplug unit from the electrical box instead of where reel is. If any of you are sick ... read more of taking off cover and putting it back on, I highly recommend this product. I was actually looking at buying an automatic pool cover but this does the same job at a fraction of the cost. I will use pool more often this summer because of the ease of use with this product.

Great product, easy to use, plan time to assemble
After FedEx finally got delivery right and saw the size of the box I knew there was "some" assembly involved. The white powder coat paint is very nice. The parts are well made and coated. The assembly took awhile even for someone who knows how to putbthingsntigerher and has all the appropriate tools. Read the directions and be certain to drill holes ( four ) in correct place. The rest is all self tapping screws, a good drill and bit are required (hex drill bit). Operation is easy and can be ... read more done by one person although easier with two. Along with the blue and black solar cover purchased along with this reel, the pool gets warm with just the sun and coupled with the heater, it's just superb.

      No sagging, but horrible instructions
We purchased this for a 24' above ground pool thinking that 1 person would be able to uncover / cover the pool. This is not the case, but only because of the size. We are very satisfied with the quality and there is no sagging and holds the solar cover nicely. The big issue is that the instructions are awful and the video tutorials on the Rocky website are seriously out of date. Because it's an AG pool, we did not need the concrete anchors included, so not sure of those directions. Overall, ... read more it's a great product, but for a large AG pool with a wooden deck, spend the money on an automatic reel.

      Rocky's 3A reel
I purchased a cheap plastic reel 3 years ago and my neighbor purchased a Rocky's - I was penny wise and dollar foolish. I recently purchased a Rocky's from In The Swim and I'm very happy with it. It even holds up well outside in our harsh Wisconsin winters.

      Great Solution
We've got a 24' round pool and this works great. We used to roll up the cover and lay it in the grass or drap it over our fence. The fence would tear it and we got all kinds of dirt and grass back in the pool. This attached quite easily and makes covering and uncovering much better. I can uncover it from outside the pool and pull it back on from inside the pool by myself. My son can pull it back on with a little help. No more grass all over the cover!

      Nice Alternative to the Reels
We have used a solar reel for about 3 years prior. Everyone in the family hated it! Nobody wanted to be first in the pool or last out. There was always complications. I found this on line and decided it couldn't hurt to try. Wow! The whole family agrees how much easier it is! No more fighting with a big heavy reel and having the stupid blanket get stuck. It is simply: fold and over the edge! The only downfall was installation. It took a few attempts to get the saddles where they needed to be for ... read more proper storage of the blanket.

      Solar Saddle Pool Hangers
Since purchasing a RayPak pool heater for my 21' above ground pool, the use of the solar cover is a must in keeping the pool warm over night. These saddle hooks did the job for storing the cover when using the pool. They not only do the job but they look good to. Even if you don't have a pool heater, it makes using the cover on a daily basis easy. Installation was quick and easy as well. Will suggest this item for anyone with a pool.
