      REVIEW.
Have only brought IN the swim chemicals and brought them for years. And will always buy them.

      Great Product
I love the fact that this product works so well with no fuss and muss, You dump the appropriate amount into the skimmer basket and let your filter do the rest. I have no problem maintaining the proper chlorine level and the filter does all the work. If you do run into any algae growth, a heavier dose of this product works well to kill it. No wasting money on costly algaecides. Reccomended doses for weekly shock are on the container too. I also love the safety lid. I have used many that are just ... read more so hard to open, this one just has you squeeze the tab and rotate. No more fighting the lid just to get to the chemical.

      Recommend di-Chlor granular chlorine

      Best for pool parties.
We use this pool shock right before we have pool parties where we know the pool is going to be heavily used. It's great because you can swim right away after using the non-chlorine type. It's our best defense to keep our water balanced, clean and clear.

      Great Product
This is a great product.. I use to use chlorine shock and I would have to mix it in a bucket of water before adding it to the pool and it still made the water cloudy...After switching to the Chlorine-Free Pool Shock I don't have to waste my time mixing I just pour it directly into the deep end of the pool and walk away... My water stays perfectly clear and the kids can jump right in..

      A Great Product
I have been using this product as a supplemental pool shock for 16 years. I have lots of grand kids and like to keep my chlorine level at 3ppm. After heavy swim usage I shock with chlorine-free shock to sanitize with out raising the chlorine level. As a retired Pool Store employee I have recommended this type of shock many times to customers who have had high chlorine levels but needed additional water sanitation.

      I LOVE THIS LITTLE BOTTLE
AT FIRST I WAS SKEPTICAL ABOUT THIS POWDERED INSTANT LIQUID -- I NORMALLY BUY THE LIQUID CHLORINE TO ADD TO MY POOL, SO AT FIRST WHEN I OPEN THIS BOTTLE AND SAW IT WAS GRANULAR I THOUGHT WHY WOULD THEY CALL THIS "INSTANT LIQUID CHLORINE" BUT I HAD NO CHOICE AT THE MOMENT AND USED IT AFTER A LARGE POOL PARTY AND BOY WAS I PLEASANTLY SURPRISED...IT MADE MY POOL CRYSTAL CLEAR AND I'VE HAD TO USE SO LITTLE TO MAINTAIN ON A WEEKLY BASIS...SO I LOVE THAT I'M ACTUALLY SAVING MONEY. THANKS IN THE SWIM!

      Excellent Product
I tried the instant chlorine and it works great. I put in my pool every eight days and the water is clean and a nice blue. I like it better then the liquid chlorine due to the fact that the containers always leek when I buy them at the hardware store.

      Cheaper then Liquid
My second year with this product. Works great, quick delivery.

      Bang for the buck
When shopping for shock it's important to know what the percentage of active ingredient is so you know what you're paying for. I've compared this product to others and found this one to offer the best ratio of active content to filler. Having used it for three years now I can safely say it works very well and I'll continue buying this shock for my outdoor pool use.

      Not for my pool!
Did not like your Super Shock, it leaves residue behind in the bottom of the pool. Used 2 bags will not use again.

      Great results!
This is our first year in our new house, and the pool had been poorly taken care of by the previous owners. The water was cloudy even after an almost complete water change and balancing. Then it turned green. Yuck! The pool shock we bought from our local pool store was not cutting it. Saw this online and figured it was worth trying. So happy we did! This in combination with Super Floc Out cleared the water right up. Now we use Super Pool Shock once a week to prevent new algae growth. I won't use anything else!

      Works as advertised
This does a good job of keeping my chlorine levels right without adding all the CYA but it does leave a powder or silt in my pool that I could do without.

Always quick shipping and delivery, as well as the best price.

Great value, even better when on sale!
I have a 60,000 gal in-ground in the middle of the woods in the northeast... constant debris, wildlife, etc. making its way into the pool on a daily basis makes keeping the chemistry balanced and inhibiting algae growth a constant struggle. Previously I was running to the local pool store and picking up liquid chlorine 15 gals at a shot to balance and shock the pool in conjunction with my In The Swim Tri-Chlor tablets in my 2 chlorinators. I decided to give the Calcium Hypochlorite ... read more Sanitizing Granules a shot when I saw the 50# container on a great sale price while reordering my Tri-Chlor tabs. My first shock treatment only took 6# of granules, where as I typically would need 10-15 gallons to reach the same effect. Cost to product ratio was far better with the Granules, plus I can store the 50# much safer in a smaller space than the equivalent in liquids with fewer trips. Not to mention I'm far less likely to get a chemical burn from splashback or accidental spillage with the granules. From my initial experience, I estimate that I will continue this method over liquid chlorine from now on.

      A Shockingly Clean Pool
This shock works better than any of the shock that I can buy at CA Pool Supply stores. It cleans up the pool almost immediately and the price matches CA Shock.

      GREAT SHOCK
THIS POOL SHOCK IS EXCELLENT. WE DID NOT COVER OUR POOL LAST FALL AND WE STARTED FILTERING LAST WEEKEND BY USING THIS SHOCK. OUR WATER IS NOW CLEAR AS CAN BE. WE HAVE USED THIS SHOCK FOR THE LAST 5 POOL SEASONS AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.

Never going back to other brand
The best shock we have used. The water is clearer than it has ever been. Also, it takes less shock than the big pool stores brand.

Good product but falls a bit short
Although it’s a good product don’t depend on it to work as your algaeside eveb though it says it will. If conditions are right you will still get algae in your pool. I recommend the super shock once a week in conjunction with this for a crystal clear pool

Bought to help in the management of our salt system pool after having the same recommended by the pool supply where a water sample was taken which is about 29 miles one way.

In The Swim Knowledge Pool: Swimming Pool Shock

    In The Swim's Dr. Pool

    Shock Treatments for Swimming Pools

Granular chlorine is a convenient way to sanitize and disinfect pool water. Used in small amounts, swimming pool shock can raise chlorine levels quickly for a pool found to be lacking. In larger amounts it will easily super-chlorinate or hyper-chlorinate pools for removal of cloudy water, chloramines, and disinfectant by-products. Most importantly, swimming pool shock quickly destroys pathogenic bacteria, viruses and microbes found in pool water.

The Many Types of Pool Oxidizers

    •  - Di-Zap Multi Shock is stabilized, and can be used daily in pools, spas and fountains without calcium build-up.
    •  - Pool Shock and Super Pool Shock from In The Swim is suitable for all purposes, sold in bags and buckets.
    •  - Non-Chlorine pool shock does everything that pool shock does, with exception to killing heavy algae blooms.

The Many Uses of Pool Oxidizers

    •  - Restores clarity to cloudy pool water
    •  - Kills pool algae strains of all types
    •  - Sanitizes to destory bacteria of all types
    •  - Removes chloramines and other chlorine byproducts
    •  - Breaks down organic and non-organic matter, and bather waste
    •  - Raises chlorine levels quickly when found to be near zero
    •  - Removes stains on plaster, pebble and fiberglass pools

    How To Shock a Pool

    •  1. Clean the pool of debris before shocking a pool
    •  2. Balance the water chemistry and adjust pH to 7.2-7.4
    •  3. Each pound of pool shock can deliver between 7-9 PPM, per 10,000 gallons of pool water
    •  4. Add enough to reach a target threshold of 10, 20 or 30 PPM, depending on water condition
    •  5. Brush the pool, and run pool filter for 6-8 hours following super-chlorination
    •  6. Keep solar covers safely stored off the pool until high chlorine level subsides
    •  7. Check chemistry levels within 24 hours and adjust as needed, if chlorine is found to be zero, repeat shock treatment

    Pool Shock Treatment Tips

    •  - Always add chlorine to water, Never add water to chlorine
    •  - Always use the entire bag, Never store half-used bags of shock
    •  - Distribute the chemical around the pool, Never pour into the skimmer
    •  - Always adjust pH level to the low side, 7.2-7.4, where chlorine is more potent
    •  - Brush the pool after shocking, with a stiff pool brush, or a stainless steel bristled algae brush
    •  - Vinyl pools should pre-dissolve pool shock. Pour into a bucket of clean water and stir until dissolved
    •  - Sweep up any spills immediately, and add directly to the pool.
    •  - Never mix chlorine granules with any other type of chemical, or anything except water.
