    Hayward Cleaners

Beats using a manual vacuum cleaner!
I gave it a three star because it works great on my sisters pool but in my pool it goes slow. She has a chlorine? pool rectangle shape, mine is salt and a t-shape.

      Very Good Service
We have always received good service wehn we order from In the Swim. The delivery is fast and the tracking helps us calculate the arrival time. This little cleaner works excellent. We have had one for almost five years and we gave this one to our son for his pool. It requires little or no maintanance and doss a sparkling job. Don't hesitate to order from this company and the products are great.

      Great value! Super company support!
Terrific cleaner, easy to use. It climbs the walls and does a great job on the sides and floor of my gunite pool. Hayward tech support the best around. Even out of warranty, they are absolutely the best company to do business with. I have used this cleaner for 4+ years. Once, under warranty, overnighted it to them, they completely rebuilt the unit, and paid for return shipping, all done within 5 days -- no charge. Out of warranty, they did the same - no charge! Works flawlessly. Occasionally, if ... read more big debris (rocks, tile grout flaking off), get caught inside, it's fairly easy to get this out. Need to check the "flippers", which occasionally either need to be replaced or re-attached. Otherwise, no complaints. I use it in conjunction with a leaf/debris catcher (separate item). The best thing about it is, there are no electrical cords to mess with, you can leave the unit and the hose floating in the pool when not in use....just disengage it from the skimmer and let it float!

      Does a good job-not a speedy process
We bought our Critter last year and have used it almost every week during swimming season. The Critter does a good job and is easy to assemble. Just put the hoses together, put the critter in the water and force the air out of it, hook it up to the skimmer and let it go. The bad part is that it is slow and it doesn't do the walls. The good part is that where it does go it does an excellent job. All in all it IS worth the money. It saves us time because we just hook it up and let it run. The ... read more Critter stops moving when it is time to backwash the filter. I would give it a B+ for a grade.

      Easy Peasy Sparkling Water
This is the best purchase we have ever made for our pool. We had an automatic pool vac that came with our above ground pool, but it was such a hassle to start and keep going that we abandoned it ages ago. After years of wearing myself out cleaning the pool, we finally broke down and, based on the reviews here, bought this little gem. The price is good -- it was $70 less here than at our local major chain pool store. I just put the Aqua Critter in and a couple of hours later, the pool is ... read more sparkling. I don't even have to get in the pool to start it; it's easy to get going from the side. I ordered the two extra pieces of hose for our 27-foot pool, but the vac came before those, so the first time we tried it, it left a ring of dirt around the outer edge of the pool. With the extra pieces, it does better, although there is still one area that it doesn't seem to get to. That's easy to fix -- I just nudge the Aqua Critter over that area and it picks it right up. It is fun to watch too. I love this piece of equipment and only wish I had had it the last 20 years.

      very industrious critter
Our new Aqua Critter is replacing an aging and broken Polaris 65, and I must say that I'm glad we switched. The Bug (as we call it) is easier to set up, and did it's job with no trouble. Our pool floor has no wrinkles, but is a bit dimply, so I had some minor concern about the need for a "smooth" pool bottom. There was no difficulty, however. I love the way it cleans the fine silt - something the Polaris, as dependable as it was, never did. If we encounter too much heavy debris, we can always ... read more add the leaf canister. Removing it from the water, section by section, was easier as well.

      Awesome purchase
My mother in law bought this as a gift for us to care for our new pool. We had read some reviews on it before hand to see what we needed to do in order for it to work properly with the pool we have. Basically as long as you take care of it and dont allow the hose to coil it does a fantastic job. I can put her (diver darla) the kids had to name her. But i can put her in the pool in the morning and a few hours later there is nothing left in it. I was a bit weary of it as well just because our pool ... read more is not all the way even so i was afraid she would get stuck. As far as I remember shes only gotten stuck stuck once but the other times she has done just fine. I absolutely love it and i make sure that no one else (kids) mess with her so we can keep her in the best shape as possible because it saves me hours worth of work.

      Love it
I love my penguin pool vaccuum. Just hook her up and she goes. Cleans the pool floor thoroughly. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the instructions on how to hook her up and get her moving could have been clearer

      Works great
Bought this to clean our above ground pool and I am so glad I did. Whitin an hour my 27' foot pool is clean. No more manual cleaning. If you have an above ground pool I highly recommend this product.

      Excellent for Above-ground pool
With my 18ft round 52in. deep pool, I had to upgrade from 1000 gph pump with Type A/C filter to a 1500 gph pump with larger Type B filter. Better filtration and better performance with Wanda. Easy to install, only 5 minutes to connect hoses to skimmer. Definitely need leaf catcher accessory, sold separately. Highly recommend this cleaner.

      won't give her up
When I was considering buying a pool cleaner, I was very sceptical about Wanda or anything like it, but I bought it anyway because I spent so much time with the hand held pool vac and due to an injury I had to find another way so Hereeeeeeee's WANDA, the best purchase I made for my pool. I don't know what the person was talking about that said it takes him 30 minutes to hook it up cause he must be doing something wrong it takes about 5 minutes at the most. I tell everyone "you have to get Wanda ... read more for your pool" I won't do without it and if the one I have breaks and can't be fixed I'll buy another one. This is my second season with my Wanda.

      good purchase for the money
i bought this whale to clean the pool because with the hand vacuum you have to get into the pool and all the dirt is stirred up so you cant see where it needs to be cleaned. It works well but its kinda slow we leave it in the pool over night and the pool is clean in the morning as long as you take the ladder out. Price is good for the investment i have had no problems with it.

      In-line Leaf Filter works well
I bought this to put in-line on my water bug pool bottom cleaner. Easy to put in service. Relatively easy to empty, but you will get wet doing so. With pine trees in the area, I always seem to collect needles and this stops most of them from getting to my pump. The only drawback is that the lid can be very hard to pull open. I found that useing some petroleum jelly on the screws and gasket make getting it open much easier.

      Not whats pictured
I ordered this the other day and when it arrived it wasnt exactly what is pictured. It did come in a hayward box and the outer case looks the same but has a handle on it. The one I recieved has a blue net inside instead of the hard plastic basket. I would have prefered the basket as it seems it would be a lot more durable and less prone to damage then the supplied net that is in the canister.

The pool vs. Deodar cedar needles------
Used to get bombarded by the cedar tree needles---real hassle keeping the pool clean. My wife thought up placing an old nylon stocking inside the mesh collection bag and PRESTO-----virtually all the needles that made their way to the pool bottom were snared in the trap!!
