    Above-Ground Steps & Ladders

      Inexpensive but effective
This is an inexpensive option for families with small animals. Our Bichon/Poodle was quick to adapt to the ramp. It also provide some peace of mind with our cats. The only drawback so far was adjusting the ropes that secure the ramp. It took a bit of time but they stay put when tied off.

Saved my cat's life the first week I had this!
I have had my pool for a couple of years and always wanted to purchase a scamper ramp for my pets saftey. I finally broke down and bought the largest one, as I have pets of all sizes. After installing the ramp, which is a sinch. I saw my cat playing one day on my deck and sure enough she fell right in the pool. I hurried to save her, but she had swam to the ramp and was letting herself out of the pool by the time I got out there. This ramp has paid for itself by saving my cat's life.

Nice ladder for the price. Didn't want a big bulky ladder. This one is perfect

      Great ladder
I'm very happy with my new ladder it's very sturdy and safe the only issue that I have is that the ladder is straight up and down instead of having a slant to it but I do like the ladder and I feel like it is very safe for my family and it won't rust or leave paint chips in my pool

      Did the job nicely
Although I think that $40 + shipping was a bit much for 4 pieces of plastic. It was exactly what I need to convert the step portion of my old ladder into a usable step into the pool of the deck. I guess nothing is cheap anymore

      ladder conversion kit
The new conversion kit was much heavier and more durable than the other pieces that were on the latter. I'm very well pleased with them and the shipping time was very short

In response to icegator's review: He said: "This is a solid ladder and is lightweight. Make sure you cut your hole through your deck on the small side. This will keep the ladder from raising up and moving." My response: You don't need to cut your holes on the small side in your deck in order to keep it from sliding up and down. Once you have the flanges screwed down onto the deck and you insert the aluminum handles, you simply predrill a hole right through the neck of the plastic flange and into ... read more the ladder handle itself, and simply insert a screw (I used the white head screws used for aluminum siding, they blend in too). This keeps the handle from sliding up and down through the deck holes. Remember to do it for both handles and as an extra measure, I also did it to the handles that insert into the ladder neck. Also they tell you to add some weight to the bottom step, I placed clean stones tied inside canvas bags and stuffed them into the little compartments on the backside of the bottom step, works great! Gives it a nice solid feel! Ms. Willie

      Excellent ladder
This is the second easy incline ladder for me. First one lasted 17 years. The top step finally cracked for me. Now replacing it with another one that is the same. This is one excellent ladder. Sits on the bottom perfectly.

      Great Ladder
If you are looking for a great ladder to connect your above ground pool with an adjacent wood deck, this is an excellent choice. Once it is properly weighted down and attached to the deck, this ladder is amazingly stable. Mine does not budge. The treads provide excellent foot grip and do not require any sort of friction tape. Installation is simple providing you have the correct size hole saw or forstner bit to drill two holes in your deck for the handrails. This ladder is particularly good if ... read more you have very large or elderly family members or guests. Very attractive and durable so far. The only area which needs improvement is the size of the pockets in the bottom tread. There are four hollow cavities in this tread, designed to hold bricks to make the ladder more dense and have it sink firmly to the bottom of the pool. First of all, you need 4 patio pavers, not standard bricks. The smallest patio pavers I could find barely fit and I had to pound them into place with substantial force. Given the fact that the ladder is made in Canada, I wonder if Canada uses a metric size patio paver which is a few millimeters smaller in thickness, which would fit perfectly. It's a minor problem which should not deter you from considering this great pool product.

      Granny tested
I built them in one day. I needed a friend to help lift the one half into the pool. They were a little heavy to adjust the height once I got them in the pool. There was a learning curve about getting them good and level, so that the two staircases can be attached with good stability. The "non-entrapment step facing" and "the skids" on the bottom of both sides should be installed outside of the pool, and secured with a little tape until you have the steps installed well. Once the stairs are in ... read more you will not be able to adjust the liner, so be completely ready to place the steps where you want them. Mom/Granny went swimming today and did great. She was fully in control all the way into the pool and all the way out to the sidewalk.

Very sturdy stairs, complete with security gate
I purchased these stairs so that my father and my aunt could more easily get into the pool with their disabilities. Plus, these stairs look way nice and come with a security gate that you can lock as an extra effort to keep children out of the pool unattended.

      Stable excellent pool ladder
This is a really expensive ladder, but worth every penny, We paid an extra $200 for the Harrows pool company one and it still sucked. It was unstable, required sand to hold it in the pool. The Confer ladder was so much better. Easy to assemble (but it took some time), a little heavy to get into the pool, but using water to add weight was so much simplier. Big hit with my 63 year old wife!

      Easier to handle
Bought this to replace the roll slide ladder that broke. This ladder is our 3rd ladder and this by far is the best of the 3 we have purchased. This ladder does Not float!! You don't need to fill the ladder with water. It is adjustable and is solid once in place. Love the handle features because we put our pool noodles through the spaces at the top of the steps. very sturdy. The side pull out tab feature Is easy to use when pulling steps up in a position when pool is not in use and can be locked ... read more with a simple padlock if desired .

      Definitely worth the money
I put the koolgrip on my ladder coming out of the pool. It was easy to install by just zipping over the existing ladder. Keeps hands from touching hot metal & possibly burning them. Wish I had purchased one a long time ago.

      Outstanding product!
I put Kool grips on the ladder and where you walk down the steps into the pool. They truely work! I think I should have bought the UV protectant and perhaps the blue wouldn't have faded as much as it did in this Las Vegas sun/heat. Maybe I should have purchased the beige instead of the blue. I like Kool grips so much that I am buying some for my friends for Christmas!

      Quick and easy
I Purchased the grips because of the Price and was glad I did. They were much easier to put on than other brands and The price point much better. Obviously I don’t know how long they will last but the ease of application and their appearance is exceptional.

More About Above Ground Pool Steps & Above Ground Pool Ladders

Above ground pool steps and ladders are important pool equipment for the safety of pool users and pets. In the Swim offers a variety of steps and ladders for every above ground pool owner’s budget, whether or not your pool has a full or partial pool deck

For above ground pools without a deck, a two-sided ladder like the Roll Guard A-frame safety ladder and the Evolution A-frame safety ladder are useful necessities. Take a 'step-up' in quality and size with two-sided pool step systems that feature an outside safety gate such as the Deluxe Entry System or the Combo Step Entry System that combines wide and sturdy stairs outside the pool, and a thick yet unobtrusive ladder inside the pool. Double sided pool A-frame ladders are weighted with sand or pebbles, to sit solidly on the pool floor and stay firmly in place.

For above ground pools with a deck, you can use the single pool ladder or the wider and safer pool steps, connected to your pool deck. For above ground pool ladders, look at the Heavy Duty In-Pool Ladder, or the 5-Step Stainless Steel pool ladders. Above ground pool steps are selected from 4 models, including the popular Staircase Steps and the elegant Curve Step System. Weighted pool steps connect to your pool deck and make a stable way for kids and adults to enter and exit the pool safely. Pool steps or stairs also make a great place to sit in the pool!

Vinyl Works and Confer above ground pool ladders and steps are made from roto-molded thermoplastics, designed to be easily assembled and quickly installed, with all parts and complete instructions included. The most cost-efficient models include the single pool ladder that attaches to your pool deck or a double sided pool ladder for above ground pools without a deck. The more expensive models include locking safety gates, wide and deep treads and platform, solid handrails, and weight ratings of up to 300 lbs. Using a ladder pad or step pad is recommended to protect your pool liner.
