    Chlorine Free Chemicals

      Love it!
This is my fourth above ground pool! It is my first ionizer pool system, we have had it four years! I highly recommend it, its been the best and easiest keep pool I have had! I wouldn't have anything else! We had to replace our ionizer system due to not having it covered for protection from the sun! But didnt have a problem with doing that!

      Absolutely love my Copper Ionizer
I bought mine 3 years ago. I have a 25ft above ground pool. It works like a champ. I run my pool all year round and I only have to add 1 lb. Of shock per week. Best choice I ever made. I recommend adding a quick release on both sides of the ionizer so you can easily change the chamber each year. Cost to replace the chamber is about $95. It saved me several hundred dollars every year and tons of maintenance time. The unit will fade if you leave it in direct sunlight over time but it will still ... read more work like a champ. I put a small cover over mine. No chlorine, no salt. Open your eyes under water with no problem. Best decision I ever made with my pool.

      2 Weeks in Working Great
Installed about two weeks ago; really easy install because I already had an outlet by the pump. Once the copper level was reached the algae on the sides was reduced with just 1 shock and seems to be getting less each day -- almost gone. Next will be to see how it does long-term with occasional shock and how long the anodes last. Very happy so far.

      Really makes my pool sparkle
Installed this on my 23,500 gal pool earlier this summer. You have to shock the pool afterwards (with chlorine), but after that I cautiously let the chlorine level drop below 1 ppm, and went from using 4 tablets weekly to 2 tabs per week. Water has never looked better, even with half the chlorine! I still shock the pool 2x per month, just to be sure the pool is sanitary, but I give Nature2 Express a thumbs up, if you want to cut down on chlorine.

      Going on 15 years
I was skeptical when my pool guy installed the nature2 years ago, but when I neglected to buy a new cartridge the next year I sure noticed it! The minerals really make it easier to manage the water and gives it a sparkly look. Definitely do not neglect to replace the cart since then, saves me at least as much as it costs, on less chlorine tablets. I only need less than 25 lbs tabs for the whole summer (27,500 gals, inground). Love my nature2 filter!

      Great Product
My pool was so green it was like pea soup. I purchased over $200.00 dollars of chemicals to clean my pool and it was still green. So I found the Nature 2 Express Mineral Purifier and purchased it 2 days after I installed it my water is clear all the green is gone. Also it's so easy to install it took about 15mins. Super great product very pool owner needs one.

      What a difference
Install once a season. No chlorine smell, skin dryness, and other problems associated with chlorine. Still need to shock pool every two weeks and set chlorine feeder on 1. $100 to $150 savings every season too!

      very little chlorine
Been using for the past 4 years. Very little chlorine needs to be used. Pool liner still looks new, no color fading. Just need shock in the opening to energize the minerals--works great. need one every year

      Saves on chlorine
Ever since using the Nature2 purifier in our pool, the water has been crystal clear and easy to manage! Highly recommended, even though it's a bit costly.

It's a great fit and value compared to price of new filter. Easily installed and works great.

      High quality and easy installation
Arrival was fast, installing was easy and pool was crystal clear within hours. Easy to read pressure gauge. This filter was a replacement for my 30 year old Hayward de filter

      Excellent Product
I started with an EC75 "finger style" DE filter. I had a few problems and wound up upgrading to this unit. It seems to be much better made and is much easier to maintain for a few reasons. First, if you add the multiport valve, backwashing, rinsing, draining excess water, etc. can be done with the turn of a wrist. Secondly, the every-few-year maintenance you're supposed to do with a DE filter (i.e. opening it up and hosing all of the membranes off) can be done by removing a single bolt, and none ... read more of the plumbing has to be undone. The EC75 requires the disconnection of the plumbing and the removal of something like 20 bolts. Overall, I'm very happy with this filter, and it's definitely worth the extra money considering that this should be a 10 year investment.

      Great results
This is the second year we have used the frog. We switched from nature 2. It is so easy to use and easy to install. Maintains the pool beautifully without a lot of work.

      PhosFree Believer
9 year user. Got first sample from my pool builder. I hate the dangerous chemicals in algaecides, and don't like the foamy water, algaecide taste or water ring from dead algae. Open pool with shock & algaecide. Vaccuum and clean the waste. Balance pH, test phosphate. Use phosfree if elevated, then weekly phosfree + pool perfect. Keeps water sparkling with no foam, no water ring and no algae, even through August. Will occaisonally add a dose for unusually hot weather or a lot of rain. (I don't ... read more find the spring / fall treatment to be useful. Even with use at recommended dose, still need algaecide to open.)

      best product, best deal
It is now a known fact that algae cannot survive without phosphates, and Phos-Free easily brings your pool's phosphate level to zero. Since using this, I have never had even a hint of algae (and it was a significant fight before then). Plus, the 3 liter bottle from In The Swim costs about the same as what my local store charges for a 2 liter bottle. I usually get 2 bottles (which meets the free shipping level) and I'm good for the season. Not only that but a free test kit is included so you know ... read more it's working. All around, my favorite item from In The Swim.

      No More Algae Worries. Period.
This is the second year that I have used Phos Free in my pool. I have to say it is the most amazing, time and money saving product that I have used in my pool. I have had no problem with algae, the pool is cleaner, I use far less chemicals, the water simply sparkles and is as clear as a bell. My usual two to three week pool opening this year was reduced to 5 days (using a lot less chemicals and $) thanks to closing last year and opening with Phos Free this year. It is worth adding to your weekly ... read more routine. In the long run this product more than pays for itself by using fewer chemicals season long. I am a believer and have the $ to show for it! Good luck. On a side note - the water is so clear after using this product that I can see the smallest spec in the deep end - it is like crystal!

In The Swim Knowledge Pool: Chlorine Free Chemicals

    In The Swim's Dr. Pool

    More About Chlorine-Free Pool Chemicals

More pool owners are making the switch to chlorine-free pool chemicals. The smell and taste of chlorine can be off-putting to many swimmers and some people even have allergic reactions to chlorine. Some pool owners therefore prefer chlorine free pool chemicals to eliminate completely or greatly reduce the amount of chlorine in their pool water. Alternative chlorine-free pool chemicals use natural processes and nature's own chemistry to sanitize pool water.

    Reducing Chlorine Demand

The most effective way to reduce chlorine use is to add supplemental sanitizers. Ozone, UV Systems and Mineral Purifiers all allow you to use 1/2 as much chlorine, while enjoying an improvement in water clarity. Enzymes reduce organic load in the water and clean your filter, naturally. Clarifiers and Algaecides also can help you reduce the amount of chlorine needed on a daily basis, and further reduces the need for shocking. In most cases however, you will still need an oxidizer, occasional pool shock treatments, although chlorine-free pool shock can be used just as effectively in most cases.

    Going Completely Chlorine Free

You can go completely chlorine free by doubling up on supplemental sanitizers. One such method is to use either a Ozone generator or UV system combined with a Mineral Purifier, like Nature2 or Pool Frog - and together they can manage almost all of your pool's sanitation needs. Of crucial importance to such a chlorine-free pool is proper water balance, a very effective pool filter, a clean pool, and weekly shocking with non-chlorine shock. Additional support can be found with natural Algaecides, Enzymes or Clarifiers if needed.

Aqua Silk Chlorine Free Pool Treatment

Aqua Silk is a simple 3-step pool sanitation system that is completely chlorine free, relying on powerful disinfectants used in hospitals and other places where sanitation is critical. In The Swim carries Aqua Silk, a proprietary blend of biguanide sanitizer, peroxide oxidizer and algaecide, sold in a convenient kit. You will still need to maintain balanced pool water, keep a clean pool, and run the filter long enough each day to maintain water clarity. But, you can say goodbye to chlorine forever! In fact, if you do accidentally use chlorine in an Aqua Silk pool, it may turn a sickly orange color! :-)
