ladder not up to code in CT
ladder needs to have a self-locking gate so it's not up to code, at least in Watertown, CT. Other than that great product

      Good ladder
Looking for a good ladder found one. Frame is strong and easy to assemble. And it comes with a 5 year warranty how can you beat the.

A very sturdy ladder. So much better than the ladder that came with our pool. If you have so heavier people n your group this ladder works great.

      Best ladder ever
I never take the time to write reviews, but I had to pay it forward with this product. I bought this ladder to replace the flimsy one that came with my 48 in. Bestway (like an Intex) pool with metal support poles. I debated whether to pay over $100 for a ladder for a pool that only cost $300, but it is worth every penny. This ladder has a heavy-duty platform at the top so I no longer have to climb from the top step of the ladder that came with the pool, over the top edge of the pool, while ... read more trying to balance on 1 foot, while 4 feet off the ground, not easy for someone afraid of heights. We have a lot of foot traffic in and out of the pool, and this ladder is very secure once you fill it with water and zip tie it to the edge of the pool, as other reviewers suggested. Without the zip ties, it does float out of place. With the old ladder, I used to worry constantly that someone would fall off and crack their head open on the stone patio, but no more! The ladder does move a little when the kids are making a whirlpool, but it is easy to shift it back into place, and it doesn't wobble at all even when my 240 lb., 6' 3" husband scrambles up it. The steps are grooved so that your feet don't slip, and the handles at the top are great for turning around at the top. We didn't need any lube to put the parts together. If you're using it for a 48" pool, don't forget to leave off the extensions on the uprights. It tells you that in the instructions, but my husband neglected to read that part, and we had to bang them off so that the ladder wasn't too high. Yes, the ladder cost 1/2 the price of the pool, but we intend to keep the pool for years to come, so it was worth the investment for the peace of mind. Much cheaper than the ones I saw at a pool store. Also, it arrived within 2 days, even though delivery confirmation said over a week. The lock is useless for the ladder, as it is not long enough to fit through both holes, so it doesn't make sense that it is included, so plan on getting lock if you need one.

These worked perfectly. guess work on measurements and can be worry free for another 20 years....brass will not corrode away like previous pot metal and will be last time i have to cut out concrete to replace...i wish i had these on original pool installation

      Solid product
I bought this a couple weeks ago to set with the new concrete. Worked great and shipping was super fast

      Looks great
Bought this two weeks ago, easy to assemble, looks great in the pool, too bad the weather isn’t as good, haven’t had an opportunity to get in the pool.

Deck flanges are a seperate item!!
Be sure to order your deck flanges along with this item. Holes in plastic steps may need trimmed for the pipe to slide through easily. Overall looks like a good product. In The Swim shipping our deck flanges in a couple days. Will update review when they arrive.

      Strong and Sturdy
Needed this type of ladder that is hard to find. Needed in a few days for a planned family event. Fair price, sturdy and strong, and customer service was excellent. Got it in a couple of days, put together and installed in a very short time.

      Ad Misleading
Whereas the quality of this product is quite good, the listing in the catalog as Kool Grips is clearly misleading. I presumed that I would be getting a pair (would anyone ever really order just one?) since the price and the ad both suggest a pair.

      So thankful!
This will really make getting in and out of the pool so much easier!

      Good Product
We have a lot of elderly people and small kids using our pool and the grips really help them get into and out of the pool. I highly recommend a UV spray to keep them from fading and from losing elasticity. The spray is also somewhat tacky, which helps the overall grip. During the off-season, I remove them from the ladders, dry them completely, dust them with corn starch and store them in a plastic bag in a controlled air environment (like your house for example, not outside). The rubber backing ... read more does deteriorate after 2-3 seasons and if stored without corn starch will stick together causing the backing to rip apart. With proper care, they are well worth the cost.

      excellent investment
I bought this a couple weeks ago and it is great. Simple to put together and the quality is great. Thought I would need sand bags or something to weigh it down but they were not needed. We just made sure to slowly submerge stairs to allow air to escape and water to fill. Best purchase I have made for our pool. Delivery was quick and arrived as scheduled. If you want a nice quality stair and not build a deck this is the perfect choice.

      Very happy
These stairs do come with the safety gate even though the product description states that it can be purchased separately. These stairs are very well built and seem like they will last for a very long time. They are also very nice looking compared to the cheaper stairs. The only cons were the pirce and the fact that putting them together was a bit of a pain. It takes two people minimally.

      Stable excellent pool ladder
This is a really expensive ladder, but worth every penny, We paid an extra $200 for the Harrows pool company one and it still sucked. It was unstable, required sand to hold it in the pool. The Confer ladder was so much better. Easy to assemble (but it took some time), a little heavy to get into the pool, but using water to add weight was so much simplier. Big hit with my 63 year old wife!

      okay ladder
Not sure why but this ladder does not rest flat on the floor of the pool..... the back of the bottom step is on the floor and the front is off the floor. For some reason this year i am having trouble with algae growing inside the back openings of the ladder and on any highly textured areas of the steps.... odd... b/c i'm not having an algae problem in the pool. I didn't have this problem last year. Today i ended up taking the ladder out of the pool and laying on the ground and putting a mix of ... read more bleach and water in all the little slots, let it sit for the afternoon, went back out and hosed it out and it was clean. wish i just went with the cheaper ladder..... i liked the ladder i originally had to replace.... solid steps with little holes to fill the step and it sat flat against the floor of the pool.

      Good ladder
We actually had this exact ladder in the pool when we bought the house over 10 years ago. It was doing fine until we broke it winter storing it. We bought the exact same ladder. For the price and durability very good ladder. The only negative thing is that when you get any algae growing it will grow in the openenings in the back and can be difficult to clean out. So don't let algae grow :-)

In response to icegator's review: He said: "This is a solid ladder and is lightweight. Make sure you cut your hole through your deck on the small side. This will keep the ladder from raising up and moving." My response: You don't need to cut your holes on the small side in your deck in order to keep it from sliding up and down. Once you have the flanges screwed down onto the deck and you insert the aluminum handles, you simply predrill a hole right through the neck of the plastic flange and into ... read more the ladder handle itself, and simply insert a screw (I used the white head screws used for aluminum siding, they blend in too). This keeps the handle from sliding up and down through the deck holes. Remember to do it for both handles and as an extra measure, I also did it to the handles that insert into the ladder neck. Also they tell you to add some weight to the bottom step, I placed clean stones tied inside canvas bags and stuffed them into the little compartments on the backside of the bottom step, works great! Gives it a nice solid feel! Ms. Willie

      ladder conversion kit
The new conversion kit was much heavier and more durable than the other pieces that were on the latter. I'm very well pleased with them and the shipping time was very short
    2. 3 years ago
      Did the job nicely
Although I think that $40 + shipping was a bit much for 4 pieces of plastic. It was exactly what I need to convert the step portion of my old ladder into a usable step into the pool of the deck. I guess nothing is cheap anymore
